As usual, the audio doesn't do it justice, but it runs! We think the acceleration pump on the carb isn't working properly, as it's not revving as freely as it should and stumbles a bit when you first prod the throttle, but all that is easily fixable. Another vid and some pics of it bumperless after the jump.
I've got some black anodised mesh to cover up the hole in front of the radiator, and I'll remove the gas rams that supported the bumpers too. For now it'll just have rubber grommets put in the holes to stop water getting in, but later it'll have them filled up.

Uhoh I see a problem. The steering wheel is on the wrong side! You should get that fixed while you are at it.

Very nice car!
It looks MUCH better without those ridiculous bumpers.
Just out of curiosity. how many parallel projects do you have?

Don't want to be a wet blanket here, but have you checked with your insurer if they'll charge you extra for 'bodywork modification' because you remove the bumpers? You don't want to get stung for a massive increase because they're idiots and put you in the same category as boy racers with daft plastic front mods and so-on.
I have a nasty feeling that the only people who don't know the difference between debumpering a Fiat and the following eyesore are insurance companies:

Very good point. I haven't checked actually.
Might not tell them to be honest, or if I'm going with a classic policy I'll just send them a picture (which they use to ascertain the rough value of the car) and then let them do with it what they will.
The other consideration I'm not sure about is the MOT. I'm fairly certain it'll pass, but not absolutely so.

Too many is the short answer :)
There's the Jag, the Spitfire, the Maserati, the Porsche, the Fiat, the BMW and the Lada. 7 is a lot, and the Alfa needs a little work too if that counts.

You know, I see that on almost every car I see. I'm surprised they pass inspection to be honest.

I have access to an X1-9 that I'm allowed to work on, and I've done everything I could to it but get it started, because the owner keeps putting off getting a locksmith for the key, and I don't want to pay for it myself. Maybe I should just buy the car off of him, its probably only worth like $200 in its condition, ha!

I'd recommend telling them. If not and you get in an accident, it'll be unbelievable hassle at best, and at worst they'll cancel the policy and you'll have been driving uninsured. You can have a play around with stuff like confused.com to try and work out the best thing to tell them, though. I'm guessing bodywork modification is more likely to get a big increase than, something like 'upgrading passive safety systems'.
For the MOT, you might find this useful:

Apart from the emissions tests they're all safety things, so I'd want to check them all myself anyway.
